jaliya camp is located in Abene, Casamance, Senegal
The best option is to get a flight from your destination to Banjul (Gambia Airport) where we can pic you up with a private transport and take you all the way to Abene (2h drive).
We recommend www.momondo.com or www.flygresor.se to find suitable flights.
There are also good options on certain days with different Charter companies that don’t show up in these search engines like TUI and Vingresor www.ving.se (flygstol).
RECOMMENDED FLIGHTS FOR THE RETREATS
Brussel Airlines or Air France
There might also be other options with Air Portugal (Tap), TUI, Ving, Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Vueling etc.
If the flight arrives late at night the border to Senegal will be closed and you’ll have to book a night at a hotell in The Gambia and we will pick you up in the morning the following day. We use to stay at Woodpecker Resort Hotel which is very close to the airport and have their own pick up in the night.
The pick ups included in the retreat are to the flights arriving +1 or -1 day from the retreat start and endings. If you want to arrive other times we can assist you with the arrangement at your own cost (70 euro one way).
There is also a more adventurous route if you want to make this retreat a part of a bigger journey in Senegal. Then you fly to Dakar and take domestic flight or car/7-place taxis to Ziguinchor. Just note that it is a long, and not always easy journey from Dakar to Abene by car.
We can advice you for the best routes and assist you in your planning but you are responsible of how you get to Banjul Airport or to Ziguinchor/Cap Skirring Airport, Harbour or “taxi garage” where we can pic you up and take you to Abene.
These are exclusive events with limited numbers of participants, private experiences which allows you to gain a deep, personal and authentic relationship with the West African culture, music and dance together with Sousou & Maher Cissoko and the team of Jaliya Camp.
