This season, we’re introducing a new experience: you can design your own retreat! Choose from a variety of weekly packages tailored to your preferences and interests, and enjoy our favorite activities that we’re excited to share with you! These retreats/workshops are exclusive events with limited numbers of participants which allows you to gain a deep and personal relationship with West African culture, music and dance together with Sousou & Maher Cissoko and the team of Jaliya Camp.

Create your own retreat by choosing from these activities:
1. KORA WORKSHOPS (full/half)
Dive into learning the kora with Sousou & Maher Cissoko.
(Available: January 10-23, December 2025, January 2026
STANDARD PRICE: 300/150 EURO PER WEEK AND PERSON
Included: 6 or 3 group lessons (spread out and with individual feedback), the opportunity to borrow a kora and get some feedback and ask questions in-between sessions as well.
2. SINGING WORKSHOPS
Experience vocal training and explore West African songs with Sousou or Adama Cissokho.
(Available: January 10-23, December 2025, January 2026
STANDARD PRICE: 100 EURO PER WEEK AND PERSON
Included: 3 group lessons and the opportunity to get some feedback and ask questions in-between sessions as well.
3. YOGA & MEDITATION SESSIONS
Practice mindful movement and meditation with Sousou Cissoko.
(Available: January 10-23, December 2025, January 2026
STANDARD PRICE: 150 EURO PER WEEK AND PERSON
Included: 6 morning sessions. * a minimum of 4 participants is required for the course to take place.
4. DANCE WORKSHOPS
Engage in expressive African dance sessions with a local dance teacher.

5. DRUMMING WORKSHOPS
Take rhythmic drumming (djembe) classes with a local teacher.

BOAT TRIP

Pay the deposit fee of 300 euro (details comes after your registration, the remaining fee will be payed upon arrival in Senegal).
Arrange your travel - purchase your flight ticket and get your necessary documents and insurances! (Hurry up before the good flights are full or prices increases! Need help? Check HERE)
(Payment of the deposit fee is due within 10 days after the registration to complete your reservation and is valid first after the payment).
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
Your booking will be confirmed by email and you will receive bank information and tips on how to organise your trip (flights, health advice, packing list etc.).
By latest three weeks before the trip you will receive an e-mail with all the final details.
PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION
Payment of the deposit fee of 300 Euro is due within 10 days after the registration to reserve your place. More details on payment, deposit and cancellation policies will be sent to the registered participants. This private experience allows you to gain a deep and personal relationship with the West African music and dance with Sousou & Maher Cissoko and the team of Jaliya Camp.

The travel guarantee is a financial protection for travellers when a trip is canceled or canceled in the event of insolvency. Anyone who arranges or sells travel arrangements subject to the provisions of the Travel Guarantees Act (1972:204) must lodge a travel guarantee with Kammarkollegiet before these arrangements can be marketed or sold.
